Last weekend Zach, Peter, Marianne and I took a roadtrip to the ice caves of lake superior. We arrived to the starting point mid-morning and got right to it. The mile walk on the stretch of coastline that leads to the ice caves was absolutely surreal. I couldn't help but think as I looked out at the vast lake that this must be how it feels to walk on a different planet. It was pretty awesome.
Once we reached the caves it was a different visual experience. The icicles that formed on the sandstone rocks were all different shapes, textures and colors. It was a great afternoon of exploring the different caves and intricacies of the icicle formations.
