Chicago

Somehow the Windy City had eluded Danielle for the first 30 years of her life, but with two visits in two weeks she is at least starting to make up for her misfortunes. The first trip was in celebration of Danielle and Ellie's birthdays and although it was cut short by a snow storm we all had a great time.

Our second trip to the Second City was due to our flight to Turkey leaving from O'Hare and we decided we would head down a couple days early. Oddly enough we found that our friends Kristen and Michael were staying just a mile up the road from us for the weekend as well.

Over the two visits we managed to visit multiple museums and restaurants, take in an improve show, pose for awesome band pics, wander unknowingly into a GBLT parade and rally, gawk at that strange metal blob in the park and shop along State Street. It may not be as dazzling as New York City or have the heart of San Francisco but Chicago left us with a lasting impression and a desire for more.

  1. Classic band pics. That band must rock. Happy to see you made it to the top of a tall building - the Hancock perhaps?

  2. Classic indeed. Yes, we made it to the Hancock and it was glorious. Thinking it's going to have to be a place where we indulge in a cocktail every time we're in Chicago.
